Troy- Joann Shumpis, 61, of 3Rd Avenue, Troy at St. Marys Hospital on January 9, 2013 after a brief illness. Born and educated in Troy and was the daughter of the late John and Anna West Herring. Joann worked for Rite Aid in the Customer Service department. Survived by her husband, Michael Shumpis of Troy. Mother of David (Tracy) Kohls of Mechanicville, Darcy (Robert) Gamache of Cohoes, John (Alynn) McTighe of Colonie, Anna (Scott) Desnoyers and Brian (Candace) Shumpis both of Cohoes. Sister of Nancy Herring of Albany, also survived by 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Service Friday 10AM at the DUFRESNE FUNERAHL HOME INC., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. William Turnbull officiating. Internment in Waterford Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
