Uncle Joe was a wonderful role model to his brother's seven children, and his great-nephews and great-nieces as well. On behalf of Kevin Riley, my late husband, our hearts go out to you, Ruth.

Way back in the 1950's,when I was a teenager, Dr. Riley was my dentist. He was good friends with Dr. Dan and Mary Mahoney who were also our friends and family doctor. Ruth would not probably remember me, but when our first born was born (at the Leonard Hospital) while we were visiting in Troy, my Mom (Bernie Howard Moran) threw a party and Dr. Joe and Ruth came to wish us good luck. What a long and happy (and interesting) life they have had together for all these years. I am so sorry your your loss. Joann Howard Mohan ---------mohanfamily@comcast.net

I always felt a special bond with my great uncle, one that I will always treasure. I feel so blessed that he and my Aunt Ruth were able to attend our wedding in 2001 where they were recognized for having been married the longest even back then. He was an inspiration on so many levels to me and may never have known it - from him having been the first in the Riley family to get a doctorate to being elected as Stillwater Town Assessor. Our love will go on for him forever.
