Obituary of Danilo G. Guerrero

Danilo G. Guerrero (DG), 51, of Maple Lane, Valatie died at his home on Monday, May 19, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and is the son of Antonio Guerrero of Miami, Florida. He came to the United States by himself at the age of 15 in search for a better opportunity in life. He graduated from Elmont Memorial High School in Long Island, N.Y. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the 1980s. He was a truck driver for 30 years driving double tractor trailers for UPS, Grand Union and Hannaford Trucking Company. He took a lot of pride in everything he accomplished. Danny was a people person who loved to travel, 70’s music, trying new foods and meeting new people. Survivors in addition to his father include his wife, Norma Serrano Guerrero of Valatie, his children, Mandy (Ross) Guerrero Garmley of Troy, Jordan and Thomas Guerrero of Mechanicville and Diego Echanique of Valatie and his grandson Austin Garmley. Also survived by his former wife, Catherine Guerrero of Mechanicville, numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Wednesday 12:00 noon at All Saints on the Hudson Catholic Church in Mechanicville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Tuesday from 4 to 7pm.
