Obituary of Joan E. O'Hara

Joan Clark O’Hara, 71, of Cohoes died at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Tuesday, January, 28, 2014 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Cohoes she was the daughter of the late Robert and Else Subcliff Clark. Educated in Cohoes and was a graduate of Mildred Elley School. She was a secretary at the Watervliet Arsenal and a member of the Saturday Club. Predeceased by her husband of 38 years, William J. O’Hara, Jr. Mother of Erin O’Hara (Tracy Fratus) of Guilderland, grandmother of Allyson and Luke Sanzo. Sister of Shirley Tschumi of Cohoes, Elaine Bristol of Minerva, Madline Fountain-Guest of Cohoes, Kenneth Clark of Waterford and the late Robert Clark, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Beloved friend of Anita DeChairo. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday 12:30 at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Inurnment in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:30 to 12:30. .
