Type Obit Here Cohoes - John V. Weglarz, 54, formerly of Cohoes and Florida passed away at his home on Friday, December 1, 2017 after a long illness. Born in Troy, NY, he
graduated from St. Ambrose School and Shaker High School, Latham and attended Boston Architectural College.
Son of Anne M. Weglarz of Cohoes and Missouri and the late Vincent F.
Weglarz, Jr. He worked as a project manager for Gardiner and Theobald in
Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Miami for many years. Most recently he worked
for Winmar Construction Co. in Miami. He was an avid golfer, concert goer and
traveler. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and coordinating
family gatherings. He was generous with everyone beyond words.
Survivors, in addition to his mother are his sisters Patricia Shaver
(Blaine) of West Sand Lake and Ann Rosenkoetter (Eric) of Austin, TX and his Aunt
Sunny (Weglarz) Miller of West Palm Beach, FL . Uncle of Gabriell
Rickard (Berkley, CA),
Max, Jake and Olivia Rosenkoetter of(Austin,TX), a great-niece, Anna I. Bradford-
Rickard of Delmar, pre-deceased by his nephew Jan V. Rickard of Poestenkill, NY.
Also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St
Ambrose Church, Latham where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Brian Kelly Pastor.
Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc. 216 Columbia St. Cohoes on Friday, Dec. 8th from 4 to 7 p.m.
Those who wish to remember John in a special way may donate to Community
Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in his memory. The family would
like to thank his hospice nurse, Eileen Fitzpatrick and his care giver Brittany
Dover for the special care given John.
