Obituary of Jeanne M. Daley
.Clifton Park – Jeanne Marie Daley (nee Boivin) entered into eternal rest with her husband and children by her side on September 14, 2024, at the age of 82. Jeanne was born on April 18th, 1942, at Cohoes Hospital to the late Paul and Winifred Boivin (nee Moore) of Cohoes. She was raised in the city she would keep close to her heart throughout her life. She attended Keveny Memorial Academy in Cohoes. It was there she met her beloved husband, Jack Daley, and they would marry on August 11, 1959. Their marriage produced the large and tight-knit family to which she would devote her life. Jack and Jeanne’s love story is one for the ages. Their devotion to one another for six and a half decades was a model for her entire family. Jackie, Dad, Grandpa, Papa – he was the love of her life and her entire world, and she was his. They were each other’s strength through more triumph and tragedy than most could ever imagine. Even in her final days, he never left her side, sitting by her bed late into the night. Jeanne spent her career in administration at several area hospitals, including Cohoes, Leonard, and St. Mary’s, but her first passion was her family. She raised her six children in Cohoes and later took an active and constant role in raising her grandchildren and supporting Jack as he built his business. She retired in 2003 and dedicated the next two decades to time with her family. To her children she was Mommy. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was affectionately known as Mimmy. To all of us, she was the unshakeable matriarch of the Daley Family, and she loved nothing more than spending time with that family. There were the happy years at Wakonda Family Campground, the joyful summers with Jack and her kids in her beloved York Beach, Maine, and her large annual Christmas Eve parties where anyone was welcome, and no one went home without leftovers. Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, John T. “Jack” Daley, her six children, John (Richard) Daley, Jr., Erin (John) Laforest, Paul (Kimberly) Daley, Molly (Sean) Daley, Daniel (Kirby) Daley, and Megan Kelsey. She is also survived by her stepbrother Alan Boivin, ten grandchildren, Caitlin (Stephen) Currier, John (Kaylee) Laforest, Jr., John Shea (Brooke) Daley, Kyle Daley, Ian (Kara) Hogan, Kerrie (Matthew) Morris, Dana (Brendan) Costello, Brandon (Judy) Laforest, Samuel Kelsey, and Lily Kelsey as well as her ten great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins all of who she adored. Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Helen Boivin, with whom she spent many happy years building their families side by side, as well as her dear brother Daniel and parents Paul and Winifred. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes on Wednesday September 18, 2024, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Tuesday from 4 to 7pm. The Daley Family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care in Clifton Park and Community Hospice who provided care to Jeanne over the past year. From the words of Jeanne’s grandkids, “She was a force to be reckoned with.” We will miss you more than words can say, Mimmy, but we know it’s not goodbye. It's only see you soon. We love you.
