Obituary of Peter J DeCicco

Cohoes – Peter J. DeCicco, 75, of Cohoes, passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Saturday, August 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Ralph and Katherine Polskowsky DeCicco.  He was a graduate of Cohoes High School.  He was the owner/operator of DeCicco Construction Company in Cohoes for many years.  He also was a chef at Crowne Plaza in Albany for many years.  He was a member of the American Legion in Cohoes and the Cohoes Rod & Gun Club.  He loved being on Facebook and being funny.  He loved going to his cabin on Lake George, always having fantastic parties and inviting strangers from the Boardwalk.  Every night Peter and his wife Aggie Baby held hands; my wife is my life. He loved to tell jokes. He had a heart of gold, he loved kids.  Well known to the community, fantastic builder, anyone around him left with a smile or blushing.  Liked to hang out with brothers-in-law Tony, Steven and Veronica, loved Bella and Enzo and his dogs and his friend JoAnne Becker. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Agnes (Marie) Daurio DeCicco of Cohoes, children Jammie Oliver of Cohoes, Stepfather of William Caulkins of Cohoes, Godfather and uncle of Tonya Chaplin, Grandfather of Michael Gaudette and Cody Gaudette, great grandfather of Zachary Frates and soon to be great granddaughter. Brother of Gail (Gene) Guertin and Joanne DeCicco Durviage and the late Joseph DeCicco, Donna DeCicco Rizzo, Ralph DeCicco, Cathy DeCicco, and his late wife Mary Mae Primeau.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, at 7:00pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 prior to the service.  Friends who wish to remember Peter in a special way are asked to plant a tree or donate to the Hudson Mohawk Hume Society, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.  The family would like to thank the Samaritan Hospital ICU staff and nurses for the care and understanding they gave to Peter.
