Obituary of Stephen V Muzio
Cohoes- Stephen V. Muzio, of Cohoes, passed away at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 11th, 2023. He was born in Troy, NY, and was the son of the late Joseph Muzio and Mary Ellett Muzio. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Steve was a member and former president of the PAA of Cohoes, where he was an avid Wednesday night dart player. He was a lover of bowling (before his knees gave out) and was even a member of the prestigious 300 club. Steve also enjoyed a good game of golf, often regaling others with the story of his hole-in-one. Sports were a big part of Steve’s life- he was a die-hard fan of the Denver Broncos, Alabama Crimson Tide, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins but he was the world’s biggest Boston Red Sox fan. He also loved music. His fingers could frequently be found drumming along to a song no one else could hear, and where words failed, music spoke for him.
Stephen is survived by the love of his life, his best friend and wife of 44 years, Lori Millard Muzio of Cohoes. He was the beloved father of his children Richard (Kayla) Muzio, Jamie-Lynn (Jeffrey) Ross, Jennifer-Lynn (Brian) Desmond and Matthew Muzio and predeceased by Stephen “Zachary” Muzio. He was the grandfather to his pride and joys, Eric, Zachary, Chloe, Benjamin, Nicholas, John and Abrie. Best brother to Richard (Patricia) Muzio, Alice Smith, Paul (Mary) Muzio, George (Cindy) Muzio, David (Karen) Muzio, Julie (Robert) Cone, Michael Muzio, and Karyn (John) Hockey. He was predeceased by his sisters the late Mary Dunn, Deborah Vore, and Kate Smith. Also predeceased by his in-laws Marshall “Smitty” Smith, Stephen “Dunnie” Dunn and Sherry Muzio. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Steve was undoubtedly the best Husband, Dad, Pa, Brother, Uncle, Stew, and friend. The world will be a dimmer place without his shine.
