Obituary of Ruth M. Riley

Type Obit Here Ruth M. Hollinger Riley, 97, devoted and loving spouse of the late Dr. Joseph E. Riley died peacefully in Christ at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Born in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Walter and Victoria Hollinger, Ruth graduated from Lansingburgh High School. She was employed for several years by the Ludlow Valve Company of Troy as a draftsman and also worked as a dental receptionist at her husbands practice. Ruth was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Latham and St. Francis Parish in Troy and a member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of the Assumption. Ruth enjoyed travel with Joe through the United States in addition to several countries in Europe, South America and Asia. Her refreshing sense of humor was a joy to behold. She will be missed. Married to the late Dr. Joseph E. Riley just shy of 70 years. Ruth was the mother of Linda Green (Matt Burroughs) of Melrose and Daniel Riley of Malta, grandmother (Nana) of Shalina Mallory (Ken) of Cambridge and Bristin Green (Tiffany) of Gansevoort and great grandmother of Jaspur Green of Gansevoort. Funeral Friday 10:00am at Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey D. Burke. Interment will follow in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday from 3 to5 PM.
