Obituary of Edward J Gaynor

Amsterdam – Edward J. “Eddie” Gaynor, 69, passed on to Heaven on Friday, October 21, 2022, after a short illness. Eddie was born in Niskayuna on June 23, 1953, son of the late Edward J. and Anna R. Gaynor. In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his twin sister Julie Ann Gaynor Tanner. He is survived by his sister, Barbara J. (Arthur) Dunigan. Eddie, a special needs person, could feel unbridled happiness, and he could love without condition. Not everyone has those abilities. Eddie had a beautiful smile and laugh, and he loved his cookies and Golden Oldies. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 25 at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Schenectady, NY 12306, preceded by a wake in the church from 9:30 to 10:45am. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, Scotia, NY. The Family of Eddie would like to thank everyone for the love and support shown them during this very difficult time. A personal thank you to the staff [Eddie’s extended family] at “Western” and “DayHab” where Eddie lived. They took such wonderful and special care of him. Eddie loved them all with his whole heart. Among those special people: Denise, and her wonderful and dedicated staff who personally cared for Eddie. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam.
