Obituary of Dennis P Treanor
Ballston Lake – Dennis P. Treanor, 94, of Ballston Lake, formerly of Carle Place, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Dennis was the son of Winifred and Richard Treanor and was the husband of 40 years of the late Mary (Kean) Treanor. Dennis was an active member of Corpus Christi Church. Dennis proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean War in the US Army. He was also an active member of the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450. He cherished his time at the Post especially being appointed “the Pope.” Dennis also served as Chaplin for American Legion Post 1066. Dennis lived a life of God, family and friends and always had a laugh with the funny jokes Mary had to share. He enjoyed his time in Ireland, especially with his extended Horan Family. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Stephens and the late Mary Ferreras. Dennis is also survived by his children, Richard and Nancy Treanor of Burke, Virginia, Mary, and John MacKinnon, of Port Jefferson Station, NY, Edna and Walter Kowalczyk of Massapequa, NY and Stella and Robert Ritter, of Ballston Lake. Dennis cherished and loved his large family, including his eleven grandchildren, Rosemarie (Michael) Martini, Dennis Treanor, John Dennis, Mary Kate, and Kerry MacKinnon, Marie Louise, Michaela, and Walter Kowalczyk, and Mary Margaret, Aidan, and Quintin Ritter, and great grandson, Liam Sanchez. Dennis is also cherished by many friends, nieces, nephews, who will miss him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, Round Lake, NY on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends at Corpus Christi Church, on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 4 to 7pm. and from 10 to 11:30am on Saturday, February 5, 2022, prior to the Mass. Interment will be in the spring at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Haitian Trade School in Fontaine, Haiti: Friends of Fontaine, CTNDP, c/o Robert Buchner, Treasurer, 18 Coventry Ct., Latham, NY 12110.
