Obituary of Richard P Simonian
Troy – Richard P. (Dick) Simonian, 77, of Troy, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 7, 2022. He was born in Troy and was the son of the late Carnick and Alice Huth Simonian. He was a graduate of Tamarac High School. He served his country in the United States Army, serving with the 82nd Air Borne Division. He retired from Chrysler Financial in Albany after many years of service. He was a member of the Jackson Avenue Bowling League for over 50 years and director for the Troy Bowling Association. He loved to play golf and was a horse racing enthusiast. Most importantly he was a devoted family man, he loved to watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren in their activities. Husband of the late Raye O’Leary Simonian. Father of Richard (Nicole) Simonian of Glenville, Randy Simonian of Troy, and Robyn Sharp of Watervliet, grandfather of Mackenzie, Victoria, Logan, Kelsey, Dannika, Kennedy and Emerson and great grandfather of Eastyn and Nicholas. Brother of David (Bonnie) Simonian and Kathy Burke and brother of the late Mary, Helen, John, Sam, and Robert, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm prior to the service. Masks are required in the funeral home. Friends who wish to remember Dick in a special way may donate to the Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in his memory.
