Obituary of Mary J Rapin
Nassau – Mary Joy Allain Rapin, 90, of Nassau passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany on November 23, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late George and Bertha LaCroix Allain. She attended Catholic Central High School. She worked for Friendly Home Parties in Colonie for many years. Joy liked to travel and going to the Racino. She spent her winters in New Port Richie, Florida, and spending time with her loving companion of 20 years, Dallas Malone of Michigan. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol out of Troy. She was co-manager of Chatty Cat Apartments in Schodack. Wife of the late John P. Rapin. Mother of Alison (Timothy) Plante of Schodack, grandmother of Taj (Victoria) Plante of Schodack and great grandmother of Riley and Madison. Sister of Gloria A. (Andrew) Perreault of Averill Park, Joseph (Cathy) Allain of Grafton and sister of the late Susan Laverne and George Allain, Jr., also survived by nieces, Julie Walsh, Kaitlyn Walsh and Cassie Walsh and other nieces and nephews. She brightened everybody’s life she touched. Funeral services will be held at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 11:00am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service. The family would like to invite relatives and friends to a luncheon at Moscatiello’s Restaurant, North Green Bush following the service. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends who wish to remember Mary in a special way may donate to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Menands, Columbia-Green Humane Society, Hudson, Whiskers Pet Rescue, Conn., or Out of the Pits in her memory.
