Cohoes – John F. McBride (Wish Bone), 72, of Cohoes passed away at Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born in Troy and was the son of the late Edward and Lena Thibodeau McBride. He was educated in Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School Class of 1969. He served his country in the US Navy. John retired from the Department of Taxation and Finance as a truck driver after 30 years of service. A member of the ET Ruane Post #476 for 31 years. Father of Patrick McBride. Brother of the late Larry McBride. Also survived by his cousins, Virginia Hordines, Marsha Hordines, Joseph Admire and Sue Fredericks, and his dear friend, Denise Carroll. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Tuesday from 4 to 6pm. Funeral services on Wednesday will be private. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York. Friends who wish to remember Wish Bone in a special way may donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 ST Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959 in his memory. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed inside and outside of the funeral home.
