Mr. Loudis always had a smile on his face. I was so lucky to be graced with his presence from just a little girl learning how to dribble a basketball, to family pool parties in the yard growing up, to just a couple years ago visiting and being able to talk hoop and baseball and he never missed a beat.
Mrs. Loudis I am so so sorry for your loss, and I know how much you loved and adored your husband.
Eric (Jill) Scott (Kelly) & Joey:
I am so deeply sorry that you are going through this tough time of losing your Dad, your best friend, your everything.
My deepest sincere condolences to all of you, and I'm blessed to have had time from a little girl all the way up to just a couple years ago, with the Legend.
I pray that he and My Mom are connecting up there, and watching over us all. If I know My Mom, she will be cooking like she always loved for all of us, and Your Dad can talk sports and keep her going up there just as he would if he was still here.
I am so very sorry, and on behalf of my Father and I and the Moffre Family- we love you guys, and only a phone call away <3

I didn’t know Joe personally but I certainly knew of him being part of the Capital District basketball community. Always impressed by the person and coach he was.The one thing we had in common was the use of the 3-2 zone defense. May you Rest In Peace.

Dear Loudis family- Our children's memories of basketball will always be tied to Joe, Nancy and Eric. From the kids being young and so excited to go to a Schenectady High game and see you all and see what treats Nancy had brought them to sectional high school games when they were at HVCC, and seeing Joe sitting on the sidelines watching them play. Joe always had a hug, a kind word, a newspaper clipping that he was holding onto until he saw us. Joe will be missed dearly, not only because he was an amazing coach, but because he made everything happier and better. We are so sorry for your loss. May Joe's memory forever be a blessing for you all.
Love,
Yacouba, Tracy, Samira and TJ Sangare

Nancy & Family - I'm so glad we got to spend some time together last Mother's Day at Van Schaick CC, having our boys meet Coach again meant a lot to me, especially since our boys grew up hearing story after story after story about my Coach, Joe Loudis, the GOAT. Nancy, it seems like yesterday that you and your Dad sat behind the bench cheering us on back in '79. That year was special for Joe, a comeback of sorts, with Robs, BobbyD, Toke, Norton, Vals and I playing well above our potential to make it one of his best teams ever (20-3). Looking back, I don't think any of us ever felt cooler than we did coming into that jammed packed (hot) gym for layups before Friday night home games, Queen's "We are the Champions" (we were) and "We will Rock You" (we did) blasting, Coach dialing us in, I can vividly remember him pulling me aside, screaming in my ear before the jump ball "Get them going Pep, we're pressing the whole game, you stay on the ball, don't reach in". To be coached at that level of intensity and desire was a gift. I was blessed to have Coach Joe Loudis in my life and I will never, ever forget him. Our sincere condolences. Coach will be missed dearly
He is and will always be a big part of mechanicville basketballs success
The lessons he taught whether it be on the court or in life allow all of his former players and or students to walk around with their chins up and heads high
And for that I thank him
To Nancy ,Joey, Scott and eric
And the rest of the Loudis family we pray
Thanks for treating me like family

Nancy, Joey, Eric and Scott. My heartfelt and sincere condolences on Joe’s passing. What a remarkable man and amazing life he lived. The number of students and lives he influenced is astonishing. My wife and I still remember the times we returned to cohoes to visit my parents and would run into Joe while walking by your house. He always had a big smile and we had some great talks. I always had the utmost respect for him as a coach, competitor, and most importantly, person. RIP Joe, and thank you-for being you.

Joe Loudis was my BA teacher when I was in 10th grade at Cohoes High I believe we were his first class there as a young teacher . I will always remember him as a fun teacher who taught well and his class was the one we all looked forward to attending. I also remember being surprised when I was looking at my cousin Trudy Blaha's wedding album and I saw him in the picture as one of her wedding attendants I said hey that's my favorite teacher. Over the years while working at the Cohoes Library I would look forward to seeing him at tax time he would always come in looking for tax forms, he was also my younger brother Bobbys basketball coach he will be missed greatly.
