Obituary of Harold T Potts
Harold T. Potts, Jr., 70, of Cohoes passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Born in Troy and was the son of Shirley Palitsch Potts of Cohoes and the late Harold Potts, Sr. He was a graduate of Keveny Memorial Academy Class of 1966. Hal proudly served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1973. He was a process technician at Owens Corning retiring in 2011 with over 30 years of service. He was a Little League Baseball coach and Football coach in Cohoes for many years. He loved to spend time with his family. Survivors in addition to his Mother is his wife of 42 years Jeanne Benoit Potts of Cohoes, his children Todd (AnnMarie) Potts of Colonie, Eric (Dana) Potts of Scotia and Brian Potts of Cohoes, beloved Papa to Tristan, Caden and Olivia. Brother of Carol (Charles) Bessette of Waterford and Sharon Potts-Lamont (Clive) of Cohoes, also survived by his buddy Lucky and several nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law of Georgianna Ellett of Cohoes, Carl and Linda Benoit of Waterford, Donald and Susan Bourret of Troy and David and Evelyn Dufresne of Cohoes. Funeral Monday, January 28, 2019 9:30am at Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Sunday from 2 to 6pm. Hal’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Physicians and ICU Nurse’s at Samaritan Hospital for their professionalism and care extended to Papa.
