Obituary of Kathryn M. Klar

Cohoes – Kathryn M. Roach Klar, 73, of Cohoes, passed away with her family by her side at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 after a long illness.  Born in Troy, she was educated in St. Mary’s School, Waterford and graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1962.  Daughter of the late Michael and Beatrice Narbon Roach.  She worked for Williams & Sorel Insurance in Cohoes, NY Telephone Company in Menands and administrative assistant at Russell Sage College in Troy thru the early 1990’s.  Most recently she was association manager for Troy Bowling Association in Troy.  Kathy was an avid bowler for 50 years.  Survived by her husband of 51 years, James J. Klar, Sr. of Cohoes, her children Pamela (Rick) Bertrand of Cohoes, James Klar, Jr. (Lois) of Speigletown and Michelle (Kyle) Shader of Galway and her grandchildren Jacob, Nathan and Brendan.  Sister of Ronald LaChance, Sr. of MA and the late Bonnie Pike, also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 11:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7pm.  Those who wish to remember Kathy in a special way may donate to DCI Rubin Dialysis Center Clifton Park, 21 Crossing Blvd., Suite B, Clifton Park, NY 12065 in her memory.
