Obituary of Vernon C Huestis

Vernon C. Huestis, 63, of Cohoes passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 after a brief illness. Born in Ticonderoga, NY, educated in Lake Luzerne, he was the son of the late Richard and Esther Way Huestis. He was a US Airforce Veteran. He worked as a facility technician for NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs. He loved fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. Vern was known as "Mr. Fix It" in his neighborhood. Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Michele Lussier Huestis of Cohoes, his children, Alicia (Michael) Podwirny of Hadley, Joshua Huestis of Cohoes, step-father of Rebecca Hopeck of Denver, CO, Pop Pop to Heather and Anika Podwiny, Joshua, Jr. and Joscelyn Huestis, Avery and Beau Lawrence. Brother of Richard, Margaret, Mary and Kathy, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:30am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Deacon Charles Valenti officiating. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4pm.
